Network Engineer (US)
Wyless, the leading M2M managed services provider, with office locations in the USA, UK and Switzerland, is seeking a network engineer with broad experience in Information Technology for our US technical team. The Network Engineer is responsible for maintaining the Wyless network infrastructure providing services both internally to Wyless offices and to our customers. The ideal candidate thrives in a very fast-paced and dynamic environment, emphasizes system stability and customer satisfaction and has solid prior experience with Windows, Linux, and Cisco IOS operating systems, TCP/IP routing, and with GSM/CDMA communications.

Responsibilities
- Primary duty: Maintain multisite global WAN including several operator connections and dozens of customer VPN connections.
- Determine need for and design new network elements and features to adhere to service delivery requirements including reliability, scalability, and usability.
- Perform configuration and troubleshooting of VPN, DNS, and GSM/CDMA connections using service logs, router/firewall configurations, and software tools.
- Assist with server infrastructure including RADIUS, SQL, Active Directory, Group Policy, Exchange, DFS, and Sharepoint running on both physical and virtual servers.
- Maintain documentation of network architecture, design, and procedures, and draft Visio diagrams for customers and internal use as needed.
- Track status of open issues and projects, and coordinate VPN implementations and other work with both customers and wireless network operators.
- Manage, contribute to, or support various concurrent technical and operational projects.
- Work with managed service providers on provisioning, maintenance, and incident handling of Wyless hosted infrastructure.
- Work with vendors on developing quotes and purchasing/leasing of infrastructure components.
- Maintain and contribute to the customer-facing technical FAQ site.
- Proactive monitoring of all servers, applications, and services using a combination of tools to ensure high availability and achievement of SLAs.
- Mentor tier-2 personnel, sharing knowledge and experience wherever possible.
- Perform periodic audits of security and other network monitoring logs.
- Assist with occasional non-business-hour technical tasks or issues.
- Participate in rotating oncall duties.
- Coordinate with the rest of the network engineering team to meet team objectives.
Professional Experience
- Four-year college degree in technical/engineering field
- Six to ten years of hands-on technical experience with server/network infrastructure and engineering
- Subject matter expert with OSI Layer 3 and TCP/IP routing
- Cisco CCNx/MCTS/CompTIA certifications strongly preferred
- Highly motivated and self-directed, and teamwork-oriented
- Ability to manage concurrent assignments and adhere to scheduled commitments
- Strong organizational, diagram/documentation, project management, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and influencing skills; ability to articulate with confidence to both technical and non-technical customers and internal staff
