Schenker is one of the world’s leading integrated logistic service providers. The Problem

The range of information technology at Schenker AG encompasses a whole spectrum of applications for different types of freight and logistics projects. In addition, Schenker AG wanted to launch a real-time vehicle monitoring project, named Schenker Mobility, to provide better business modelling and forecasting. The data transmitted would be dependant on a reliable wireless network, good coverage and secure connectivity in real-time. Above and beyond this, Schenker AG also wanted a single supplier to deliver an international solution to remove the complexities and costs of dealing with multiple operators.

The real-time nature of the data communications involved in Schenker Mobility called for a solution that would deliver full visibility and control of wireless connectivity across Europe. Schenker AG therefore also required a wireless solution that could connect to its remote and mobile devices, wherever they may be.

The Solution
